Chocolate molten pots with candied orange slices
Ingredients
200 grams dark chocolate chopped
50 grams butter
2/3 cup caster sugar
4 eggs lightly beaten
3 tblsp plain flour
Candied Orange Slices
1 cup sugar
2 cups water
1 blood orange cut into 4mm slices
Method
To make candied orange slices, dissolve sugar into water over a low heat.
Increase the heat, add the oranges and simmer rapidly for 10-15 minutes.
Allow to cool with orange slices still in the syrup.
Preheat oven to 200.
Melt chocolate in a bowl over a saucepan of water. Set aside
Cream the butter and sugar. Gradually add eggs and beat until smooth.
Fold through flour and melted chocolate.
Spoon into lightly greased ramekins and stick a small piece of chopped choc into the middle.
Bake them for 10-12 minutes or until they puff up. You will need to watch them as all ovens can vary as do the size and density of the ramekins you use.
Serve with candied orange slices and the best vanilla icecream you can get.
Best drink for this is a good sticky like a Botrytis Semillon.
This makes 4 –6 depending on the size of your ramekin.
