I believe that you get out of life what you put in, so I put a lot in. Nowhere is this demonstrated better than through my passion for food; the stories that go with it, the communities that it brings together, the places you visit to to taste it, and the lifestyle that embraces it. It’s why I created Second Helping.
Joanne – the appetite behind Second Helping
A few ways we can work together
From time to time I accept invitations to events and products or books to review, however coverage on products supplied for editorial consideration is not guaranteed as explained in the editorial policy below. If you would like to guarantee coverage lets chat about some of the options.
- Editorial content creation, sponsored recipes, giveaways, on-site advertising
- Media famils, travel experiences, event coverage, product testing
- Ambassador activity, custom campaigns
- Brand and social media consulting
- Recipe development, recipe editing, recipe testing
If you are a PR or a brand representative and have a product or event you think I will be interested in please get in touch – firstname.lastname@example.org
Material contained in this site is property of Second Helping unless credited to another source.
Second Helping was created to share with readers the things in life that they might want a little bit more of. I will always express my honest opinion, because I respect Second Helping’s readers and will only recommend items and places that I would purchase and use myself.
Gifting a product does not guarantee coverage on this site or in social media and I will only review a product after use. Sponsored posts undertaken as part of a campaign are an investment in time, not advertorial control of opinion.
Disclosure to readers
At times I am compensated to work with brands and companies on campaigns.
Transparency and ethics are important to me as a writer and blogger, so any “freebies” or commercial relationships will always be disclosed. For me to have accepted an invitation to attend a launch, or review a place or product, it means it is something that is relevant to Second Helping and that I would likely seek out anyway.
Whenever possible I will visit a venue again under my own steam to balance my experience. You will find few negative reviews on here. Not because I shy away from them but, as the tagline says, Second Helping is about things we might want more of, not things to avoid. I firmly believe there is far more to be gained by the sharing of positive experiences rather than lambasting the bad. However, my opinions will always be my own, based on the experience I had, and if something isn’t up to scratch I will say so.
If you would like to request republishing rights to any of the content found on Second Helping, including photographs and recipes, that’s fabulous and I am flattered, but please ask first. Don’t steal. Get in touch with me using the form on the contact page or via email.
Charities and Not for Profits
Second Helping happily supports a number of not-for-profit organisations and charities – if you represent a not-for-profit and would like to work with me please get in touch.
