Thanks so much for taking the time to check out Second Helping. Let me tell you a little bit about me and how all this came to be.
I’m a Melbourne girl in love with her city and firmly believe that you get out of life what you put in – so I put a lot in. Some time ago I decided that the only way to be truly happy in life is to identify what you are really passionate about and do something about it. For me it was easy, I am passionate about food and all that goes with it. Second Helping was created to give me an outlet to share that passion. I chose the name because it embodies both my hunger for food itself, and for more knowledge and experience. It could also speak to everyone’s passion. If you haven’t yet worked out what yours is, it’s that thing that you want more of.
As my passion has grown, so has Second Helping. What started out as a way to share recipes and restaurant tips with colleagues has evolved into an online magazine about all the great things in life you might want more of. It has also seen me leave behind a corporate life that I found uninspiring to forge a new career closer to my passion.
Drop me a line at firstname.lastname@example.org if you would like to discuss anything to do with the site; I’d love to hear from you and am always keen to hear about new projects and potential collaborations. My editorial policy and other bits of useful info can be found on the Work With Me page but, a word to the wise:
You are more likely to hear back from me if you take the time to find and use my name and familiarise yourself with Second Helping and get a feel for it. Impersonal emails are just that; impersonal.
I love being social in this digital world, so follow the links on the site and you’ll find me in all the usual places.
