This week Second Helping turned five.
Five fabulous years of writing, eating, photographing, cooking, growing, learning and sharing my passion.
I have eaten amazing food, met truly inspirational people, honed existing skills and developed some new ones and found ways to make it more than just a hobby.
For all of this, I count myself lucky, so thank you to everyone who’s been part of the journey so far.
I am still passionate about food and all that goes with it. And I do mean all, not just the eating and taking pictures of pretty dishes. I care about where our food comes from; about sustainability and making ethical choices when we eat, and I will support the producers who embody these ideals. Food to me is not just fuel. Best when shared, it can tell a story, document a culture’s history and cultivate a sense of community.
It’s my goal to be always learning and growing; finding new ways to be creative and engendering a little of the same love and passion in others.
But most of all to have fun doing it.
And I am having a lot of fun…
