Green bean salad with John West Fiery Tuna

I got sent some of the new John West Fiery Tuna to have a play in the kitchen with. I used the Chipotle in this salad of green beans, snow peas, peas and red onion. It makes a super easy and tasty lunch.


150gm green beans trimmed

100gm snow peas, trimmed

50gm peas

1 tsp mustard seeds

1 tblsp olive oil

½ small red onion finely sliced

1 tin John West Fiery Chipotle Tuna

micro red garnet to garnish



Fill a medium saucepan with cold water and bring to the boil.

Blanch the green beans for 2 minutes, then immediately lift out of the water and lunge into cold water to refresh. Blanch the snow peas for 1 minutes then remove and refresh in cold water. Blanch the peas for 1 minute, remove, drain and refresh.

Gently pat all the blanched vegetables dry then place in a large mixing bowl with red onion, olive oil and tuna. Toss through so that the vegies are coated.

Place the mustard seeds in a small frying pan and heat until they start to pop.

Arrange the salad on a serving platter, scatter mustard seeds on top and garnish with micro red garnet.
