Quick Bottle

Marc and Shane might become your new BFFs this summer. Why? They will deliver booze to your door in 40 mins. Along with mixers and ice and nibbles if you’re in the mood.

How? A clever little start up called Quick Bottle. Tonight Second Helping put it to the test. Arriving home after a crazy busy day at work, I headed to the fridge thinking, ‘a glass of wine would be lovely right now’ but the fridge was looking a little light on apart from some wilted kale (for that healthy salad I was going to make…) So it seemed the perfect time to test out Quick Bottle.

It took less than 2 minutes to set up an account. Another 2 minutes to choose what I wanted. A few clickety clicks and my order was placed. I set the stopwatch on my phone (to test the 40 minute promise) and set about cleaning out that sad looking kale whilst I waited.

Sure enough around 50 minutes later my doorbell rang and there was my bottle of wine. Hallelujah!  It was a little longer than promised but I’ll forgive them.  The delivery driver was friendly and polite, had exactly what I had ordered and the chilled items were still cold.

QuickBottle started out of small storage place in Sydney last year and wants to expand.  I am happy to spread the word and help them do that, because if I can get my meal of choice delivered to me, why not my favourite tipple too?

Anyone over 18 can use QuickBottle. It’s available in selected parts of Melbourne and Sydney and is growing all the time.

Visit them online for more info and you too can cruise the aisles of a bottle shop from the comfort of your couch.
